The Ufa division of Technodinamika’s Design Center has developed an explosion-proof plasma ignition system for gas compressor stations.
"The development effort has been undertaken by the holding to replace foreign plasma ignition systems in the framework of the import substitution project,” said Viktor Nikolenko, director of the Design Center. “The explosion-proof enclosure of the system has also been developed in Russia for the first time to replace the Italian-made product.”
The Technodinamika’s product is intended for application in gas turbine engines for gas pipelines and has been successfully tested in the GTD-4RM engine and its derivatives that are in production for Gazprom and DO-49 engine. It is also planned to install it in the latest high-performance GTD-110 turbine engine.
The system has also passed explosion protection tests and certified as 2ExdsIIBT2. Its series production is being launched at the Ufa Aggregate Production Association (part of Technodinamika).
“Deliveries of similar systems from abroad have been suspended due to sanctions, which threatened such projects of strategic importance to Russia as the Power of Siberia pipeline, Bovanenskoye gas condensate field and Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field,” says Technodinamika CEO Maxim Kuzyuk. “Nevertheless, the holding company was able to promptly develop a product equal to its foreign counterparts and successfully certify it.”
The holding has already signed a firm contract with Rybinsk-based NPO Saturn (part of the United Engine Building Corporation) to supply 12 ignition system sets for installation in gas turbine engines. The value of the contract has not yet been disclosed.
